Dolly - 7 yr old Spayed female/current on vax about 45#, black tri Dolly is a sweet, small aussie girl. She is good with dogs and cats, however she likes to bark and try to rough play at times with the kitties. She is a bit unsure of new people but when allowed to have her space and take her time, she warms up more quickly and food is definitely helpful because she LOVES treats! ;) After a hour or so after coming to me to foster....she was stuck to me like glue. She follows me everywhere, loves having her butt scratched, gives soft little kisses and is actually quite playful for her age. She is a sweet senior that would love to spend her golden years in a quiet home, where she doesn't have to regularly meet new people but instead get to spend her days with her favorite human in her very own forever home. Dolly's adoption fee is $100.00 Dollys perfect home would be will adults only, home bodies, a home that had very minimal company with humans that are experienced to manage a dog that is not good with unfamiliar people and dont have illusions of fixing her. She is not broken, she just is who she is and is very typical for the breed. If the person thinks they can change her or that she wants to change then they shouldnt apply. Dolly is perfect at being herself at this point. At my house she is very easy to live with. She is allowed to have free run of the house when I am home or away. She sleeps in my bed at my feet every night..occasionally she will choose to sleep under the bed. Dolly is pretty typical of the breed and certainly isnt everyones cup of tea. She is not good with unfamiliar people she might bite them. If a new person reaches their hand in her direction she will lunge for them. You must be willing to confine her to a room or a crate when people come to their home that she doesnt know. Not doing this will be setting Dolly up for failure and setting her up to have a bite report and no longer be adoptable. We believe she deserves a better chance than that. :) As far as other animals are concerned, Dolly would not do well in a home with cats. She does not harm them, but chases and barks at them. She takes some time to get used to a new dog and must be watched closely as they work things out. Because of this, Dolly is not one that can be taken to a dog park or to a pet store where there would always be new dogs.
